Andrew Morton is a British journalist and biographer who is best known for his unauthorized biography of Princess Diana, titled "Diana: Her True Story". Published in 1992, the book revealed the intimate details of Diana's marriage to Prince Charles, including his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.
Morton's book caused a major media sensation and attracted widespread attention from around the world. The book was also controversial, as it contained several serious allegations against the royal family, including accusations of mental illness and adultery.
Morton's book also led to significant public sympathy for Princess Diana and contributed to her growing popularity as a global figure. Diana herself later confirmed the accuracy of many of the book's claims in an interview with the BBC's Martin Bashir.
After the publication of "Diana: Her True Story", Morton went on to write several other bestselling biographies, including books on Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, and Madonna. He was awarded an Order of the British Empire in 2000 for his services to journalism.
